It was a nice surprise, a limited edition gift box of Hanabiramochi: a New Year's confection made by nine Japanese confectionery shops in Kyoto : Heianden, Kagijin, Kabira Yoshimitsu, Kamahachi Rosho, Kameya Shigehisa, Kameya Norikatsu, Kanshundo, Gion Narumi-ya, and Senbon Tamajuken.
All the best from kyoto who specialised or can do Hanarabi mochi!
It is a confectionery made of burdock wrapped in soft mochi and filled with white miso paste, which is reminiscent of Kyoto's Ozoni.
We started the New Year by comparing the taste of the beautiful and elegant Hanabiramochi
We tasted and shared 2 mochi a day with Obukucha, looking at the softness, shape, miso filling, burdock length, all slightly different, all unique and delicious
